Retired Hercules Executive Dies

Former Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. executive, Steven Buck, died Oct. 12. He was 72.

Buck worked for Hercules for 20 years and was tire division vice president and general manager before he retired in January 2006.

Buck started his career at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and worked for Farmland Industries and Cenex before working at Hercules. After retirement, Buck worked as a licensed realtor agent with Guyer Noakes Realty Group. He is a Nebraska State College graduate and served as an officer in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve.

He served as a director for the National Tires Dealers Association, the Findlay Rotary Club, Open Arms and several condo and association boards. Buck was also active in the Findlay Country Club, Rotary Club, Bay Point Yacht Club, and Gateway Church. He was a member Pheasants Forever, the NRA and the Pits Rod and Gun Club.

Buck is survived by wife Darlene, sons Christopher (Jennifer) Buck, and Matthew (Sarah) Buck; daughter Stephanie Buck; a brother, a sister and eight grandchildren.

For the entire 2024 Major League Baseball season, Atturo Tire said it will be mentioned in game as the sponsor each time the Cubs steal a base. In addition to the in-game sponsorship of stolen bases, Atturo will run audio commercials during game day broadcasts throughout the season.
