Goodyear Tire & Rubber announced its Danville, Va., plant is planning a $3.5 million renovation.
A building permit issued by the city shows the renovation would provide the main plant building a new mezzanine and more room for equipment, according to local media reports. The plant has 14 buildings, including a 1.9-million-square-foot main plant.
The city’s inspections supervisor said the renovations will be made in the existing space. The city sets the tax assessment value on the property at $26.9 million, according to media.
The Danville plant employs approximately 2,300 employees, making Goodyear the largest private employer in the Dan River Region.
