Ontario’s Ministry of the Environmental and Climate Change has given Green Arc the go-ahead to build its new retread facility.
After receiving the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) permit, the tiremaker said it will build a new facility and plans to hire 340 people, while reserving 25% of the positions for former members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
“This is a great day for Green Arc, our community and the entire region,” said Mike DiCenzo, CEO of Green Arc Tire Manufacturing Inc. “We are delighted that the company has met all requirements, and now has the official go ahead to start putting people to work.”
Equipment installation plans are underway and production is expected to begin in approximately four months.
