Frances Molloy is the first named speaker for the TyreTalk seminars at the Brityrex International exhibition in Manchester in October.
Molloy campaigns for various tire legislation and is currently lobbying the UK government to change the law on the sale and fitting of aging tires.
In 2012, Malloy’s 18-year old son Michael was killed in a bus crash caused by the blow out of a 19 and a half-year-old tire. Two other passengers were also killed. As no law currently exists in UK for the fitting of tires based on their age, Malloy began petitioning the government.
She will talk about the impact of the crash on her family, the public inquiry to the incident as well as her meetings with politicians during TyreTalk. Malloy’s presentation is scheduled for Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Event City in Manchester.
