Former Michelin North America Chairman and President Richard Wilkerson has been named chairman of the Greenville Area Development Corp.
The county-chartered economic development organization named Wilkerson and three other leaders in the area as officers of its 2014-2015 board. Wilkerson succeeds Bob Howard, of Greenville Tech Foundation, as chairman and president.
Wilkerson held numerous leadership positions the past 32 years with Michelin in the U.S., France and Scotland. He is the past chairman of the executive committee of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce and Advisory Board and the University of South Carolina National Advisory Council. He served as 2012 chairman of the United Way of Greenville County Board of Trustees and serves as vice chairman for the Community Foundation of Greenville.
