Coker Opens Its West Coast Distribution and Manufacturing Plant

The Coker Group opened its 100,000-square-foot West Coast distribution and wheel-manufacturing center last week in the City of Industry, Calif.

Local dignitaries, elected government officials, automotive celebrities, VIPs and select media celebrated the company’s grand opening on Jan. 22, which featured a custom car display, tours of the facility and live music.

The Coker Group’s West Coast facility serves as a steel and wire wheel manufacturing plant, a tire warehouse and a distribution center, allowing the company to easily assemble and ship products to customers in the Western U.S. and around the world.

Attending the grand opening event were City of Industry Mayor Tim Spohn; Corky Coker, the Coker Group’s owner; Congressman John Campbell; Grace Napolitano, California congresswoman; Ian Calderon, California Assembly member; and Gloria Molina, Los Angeles County supervisor.

Coker said while many companies in the automotive aftermarket seem to be leaving California, the Coker Group chose to stick with California because of its big automobile culture, a large work force and year-round convertible weather. In addition to serving as a manufacturing plant, warehouse and distribution center, the new facility also includes a small collection of vintage cars that will be open to view by the public.
