Bridgestone Names Oakley VP of Communications

Bridgestone Americas has hired Paul Oakley as the company’s new vice president of communications.

“At Bridgestone Americas, we are focused on ensuring that as a company, we have an innovative, cohesive and fully integrated communications strategy that engages our stakeholders, supports our brands and protects our corporate reputation,” said Christine Karbowiak, chief administrative officer and executive vice president, BSA. “I am confident that Paul’s extensive experience in guiding integrated communications for both internal and external stakeholders will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build our reputation and strengthen our engagement strategies across the company.”

Oakley has an extensive background in managing corporate and marketing communications, according to Bridgestone. He’s previously worked for The Dow Chemical Co. as a director of global communications and regional public and government affairs, as well as serving as account director with Corporate Technology Communications in Chicago. Oakley has also held various business-to-business roles.

Oakley, who earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Northern Arizona University, will serve as vice president effective July 22. He replaces Dan MacDonald, who left Bridgestone Americas last summer.

GRI recently conducted programs in Sri Lanka to empower women and motivate children under its Green x Circle initiative. The company said these endeavors aimed to address the needs of the community, focusing on both women empowerment and youth motivation.

GRI recently organized a training program titled "Management of household finance under current economic conditions" at the Ingiriya Rubber Collecting Center in Sri Lanka, South Asia led by Shashika Nimali, an NLP practitioner and life coach. The company said this initiative provided women in the industry with essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage household finances. GRI's tailored training sessions equipped participants with tools for informed decision-making, ultimately fostering greater financial security and independence, the company said.
