OTC, a division of Service Solutions, has added a family of waterproof-grade LED work lights equipped with a lithium-ion battery designed for making a technician’s work environment safer and more productive, according to the company.
 
Each light within the Spectrum series provides 50,000 hours of light and is equipped with a hang hook, magnetic base, pivoting body, face light and a top light. OTC Spectrum Worklights utilize the combination of the magnetic base or swivel hook and the pivoting body enabling the user to steer light directly onto specific components or general work area, the maker said. Additionally, with the magnetic base incorporated into the lights, the technician can apply them to any metal surface.  
 
"Working with reliable lighting in the shop is not only critical to a safe work environment but also conducive to productivity," said Dirk Skogerboe, aftermarket product manager of the Professional Specialty Tools division of Service Solutions. "Depending on the job, technicians can easily match the right spectrum light to the work at hand and know they have a safe, reliable product the OTC brand always delivers."    
 
Each light comes with a Li-Ion battery, which allows for a longer lasting battery life and more time for the technician to work. With a rubberized coating for an easy grip, the Spectrum lights also are impact and water resistant. Each worklight in the OTC Spectrum line comes with both AC and DC chargers, making these tools equally valuable for mobile or stationary service, the company said.
 
Included in the series are: the Spectrum Solar (5550), with a 10W LED work light and a UV LED top light to aide in leak detection or tracing and smoke detection; the Spectrum Trio (5551), which combines a 9W LED work light with a 3W LED top light to provide an intense light for spotlighting engine, wheels, brakes, or suspension work; and the Spectrum 30+4 (5552), which provides a broader, wider light with 30 LEDs on the face and 4 LEDs on top.
