WPMI-TV in southern Alabama reported that a young Pensacola, Fla., tire shop burglar "lost a finger in the act and needed the help of Escambia County Sheriff deputies to find it."
Police said the 15-year-old tried to jump an eight-foot high fence topped with barbed wire at J&J Tire and Service Center Towing in early hours of July 26, severing one of his fingers in the act.
Two passing girls heard the teen screaming and called for an ambulance. Police said that when the EMS arrived, they started a search for the missing digit, which they were able to locate. The teen and his finger were then rushed to the hospital.
There was no word on the youth’s condition, but the tire store is pressing charges nonetheless.
