Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) has added a Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tournament to its sports marketing program. This year, YTC is the title sponsor of the inaugural Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic.
The tournament takes place Sept. 18-21 on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill along the Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf Trail in Prattville, Ala.
“This tournament provides an excellent venue for Yokohama to place our brand in front of a new audience,” said Andrew Briggs, Yokohama director of marketing and product planning. “Working with the LPGA and RTJ Golf Trail has helped maximize our visibility, promote our full tire line-up and ultimately expand our sports marketing portfolio.”
YTC also announced that all proceeds from the event will go to KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to the goal of ensuring that all children get the balanced and active play they need. KaBOOM! will be the tiremaker’s LPGA charity partner for the next three years.
“We are thrilled to partner with Yokohama, the LPGA and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail to help us achieve our bold goal of giving all children access to the balanced play they need every day,” said Andrea Nelson, corporate partnerships manager at KaBOOM! “We know that Yokohama shares our belief that providing play opportunities to children today will ensure they grow up to become healthy and productive adults.”
