Wheel Weight Maker Hosts Free Webinar

Perfect Equipment is sponsoring a free webinar on Oct. 7 to help the industry transition from lead wheel weights to non-lead alternatives.

The webinar, hosted by Tire Review, will start at 2 p.m. eastern and will be moderated by Tire Review editor Jim Smith.

“Over the past few years an increasing number of states, retailers, and manufacturers have made the transition to non-lead alternatives both voluntarily or as a result of legislation,” said Perfect Equipment. “This free, one hour webinar will respond to the imminent change the industry is facing along with information pertaining to EPA’s National Lead-Free Wheel Weight Initiative and the ban of lead wheel weights in select states.”

During the webinar, expert panelists will discuss how businesses will be affected by legislation, how manufacturers are responding, the economic and environmental impact of the transition, and non-lead options that are available.

“We recognize that all businesses that balance tires or use wheel weights – from OEMs and shop owners right down to the installers – have questions when it comes to choosing and working with non-lead alternatives, said Mike Pursley, vice president of sales and marketing for Perfect Equipment. “With so much misinformation in the field, our hope is that this webinar will help clear the confusion and will provide our industry a solid understanding of changes ahead.”

The free webinar is open to tire dealers, wholesalers/distributors, store managers and staff, tire company executives and anyone else in the industry interested in learning more about the market’s shift away from lead weights and to alternative materials.
