UAE-based Zafco, which distributes tires, batteries and lubricants, has acquired the Zeetex tire brand from S&H Tires, a Netherlands-based company.
The move makes Zafco sole global distributor of the brand. Zafco exhibited the brand and its other lines at last week’s SEMA Show/Global Tire Expo.
The Zeetex brand was launched in 2005, and encompasses passenger, light truck/SUV and high performance tires.
K.V. Gopiraj, CEO of Zafco, said, “Our focus will be on France, Germany and the U.K., as they represent the largest tire markets, among the 21 European countries where we will now sell Zetex. We plan to quadruple our current revenue in the next four years and are confident that we will be able to achieve this target.
“We see immense potential in the European market, despite recent qualms about the instability of the economy. This takeover is in line with our goal to become a $1 billion company in the next few years and we have ambitious plans for Zeetex, as we turn it into a truly global brand,” said Gopiraj.
Founded in Dubai in 1993, Zafco is an importer and exporter of tires, batteries and lubricants, and its warehouse in the Jebel Ali Free Zone and the United Arab Emirates can handle up to one million tires.
