The tires being recalled, said the company, have “a belt-edge tape that may not meet strict dimensional requirements set forth by Toyo.” The company reports that the tires in question do not pose performance or safety concerns.
Under recall are Toyo Proxes 4, Toyo Proxes FZ4 and Nitto NT555 tires, a total of 585 tires produced at Toyo’s plant in White, Ga., during the 18th week of May 2008.
The subject tires are:
Toyo Proxes 4 in size 225/40ZR18 92W with DOT number 73T7 E71 1808; size 235/40R18 95W with DOT number 73LL E71 1808; and size 225/45ZR18 95W with DOT number 73J7 E9V 1808
Toyo Proxes FZ4 in size 225/40ZR18 92W with DOT number 73T7 E77 1808
Nitto NT555 in size 225/40ZR18 92W with DOT number 73T7 DAY 1808. (Tire Review/Akron)
