Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened a formal investigation of an Aug. 23 explosion at Titan International’s tire plant in Bryan, Ohio.
The early morning explosion left one employee seriously injured. He was transported by helicopter to a Toledo hospital, but his condition has not been announced.
The cause of the explosion has not been stated, and OSHA is working to gather information about the event.
In 2009, OSHA fined Titan $164,500 over a curing press explosion that hurled the lid of an OTR curing press through the Bryan plant’s roof.
