The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has posted high-resolution versions of the new truck tire charts on its website. The high-resolution versions are intended for companies who wish to print posters so they can be displayed in the service area for all technicians to reference. In order to maintain compliance, the charts must be at least 2 feet by 3 feet, and the original files did not reproduce clearly at the larger size, according to the Tire Industry Association
"We were informed by several members that the images on the charts were not clear when they were enlarged, so we immediately alerted OSHA and requested high-resolution files," said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA senior vice president of training. "Within 24 hours they had the new files on the website. TIA has developed an excellent working relationship with OSHA and this is a prime example of how we are working together to help protect workers who service truck tires and wheels."
The high-resolution files for printing are available by clicking here.
TIA reminds truck tire service providers that the new OSHA charts must be available in every service area, including mobile tire service vehicles. At a minimum, the 20-page chart booklet must be printed and available for every employee that services truck tires. The booklet can be downloaded at TIA’s website.
