Jim "The Rookie" Morris will be the motivational speaker at the Tire Industry Association’s 2014 OTR Conference, in Marco Island, Fla.
“We are excited to hear Jim’s inspirational story and what he has accomplished. Although his story takes place on a baseball diamond, we can all relate to fulfilling goals and dreams in our businesses and our lives,” said Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president.
Morris’ life story was the inspiration behind the Walt Disney film, “The Rookie.” The 35-year-old high school teacher made a deal with his baseball team that he’d try out for the big leagues if they won the district championship. Following his team’s win, Morris tried out and eventually pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays.
The OTR Conference is Feb. 19-22 at the Marco Island Marriott Resort & Golf Club Marco Island, Fla.
Morris will speak Friday, Feb. 21 and his address is sponsored by BKT Tires North America.
