During recent agricultural trade shows – Agritechnica in Germany and SIMA in France – Trelleborg Wheel Systems asked more than 300 agricultural sector opinion leaders what issues they viewed as key to agriculture and important in future tire development.
The Swedish firm reports that 72% of those surveyed stated they considered sustainability a key issue. When it came to tire design, 84% thought lowering environmental impact should be taken into consideration in future agriculture tire designs, while 73% said they believe a tire that reduced environmental impact could actually improve farm productivity and efficiency.
“This survey demonstrates that farmers are becoming extremely interested in the topic of sustainable agricultural solutions since they result in both higher profits for the farmer and benefits for the environment,” said Lorenzo Ciferri, Trelleborg marketing director. “We are gratified that this supports the substantial investments we have made in our TM Blue environmentally-friendly tire technology and that when specifically asked about this tire, 79% of opinion leaders loved the tire.”
Trelleborg Wheel Systems says it was well represented at both the Agritechnica and SIMA exhibitions 33% of high-powered tractors on display at Agritechnica and 32% at SIMA were fitted with TM tires. (Tyres & Accessories)
