Freda Pratt-Boyer, senior auditor of Purcell Tire & Rubber Co., was elected the new secretary on TIA’s board of directors.
Pratt-Boyer, who was elected at the TIA board’s biannual meeting, held June 25-27 in Key Largo, Fla., will take over her duties on Nov. 1. After that one-year term as secretary, she will proceed as vice president, then president, then past president.
She began her career in the tire industry and with Purcell Tire in 1972, and has worked in the company’s retail, commercial, retreading and wholesale distribution centers, and in a range of managerial positions.
TIA President Larry Brandt said, "Freda’s depth and breadth of experience in the industry will continue to be of great benefit to the board, the association and most importantly, the industry as a whole."
In her fourth year as a member of the TIA board, Pratt-Boyer also is the current vice president elect for the Missouri Tire Industry Association.
