At the recent Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, TRIB held its annual “Spot the Retreads” contest for show attendees.
With the help of several member companies, TRIB displayed a selection of nine new and retreaded tires for contestants to try and identify and have a chance to win a set of eight freshly retreaded tires.
More than 280 people tested their skill at identifying the tires, but only 17% of them correctly tapped the retreads.
“Having them go back and look at the retreaded tires they missed really opened up opportunities to have a broader discussion about the quality of retreaded tires and purchase options for these owner-operators,” TRIB said.
After the show, TRIB drew the names of seven winners who will each be receiving a set of eight retreaded tires on their casings with the help of sponsoring members, including: AcuTread, Bridgestone Americas, Continental Tire the Americas, Goodyear Retreads, Marangoni Tread North America, Michelin North America and its Oliver brand.
