Goodyear has launched a new Dunlop SUV tire line, aimed at mid-market SUVs and light trucks.
The Dunlop Rover H/T, which replaces both the Dunlop Grandtrek AT 20 and the Dunlop Rover A/T, is now available to U.S. and Canadian dealers. Officials said about half of the 33 total sizes are now available for shipment, with the remainder slated for early 2011 release.
“Research indicates that most pickup and SUV owners don’t take their vehicles off the highway, so they are looking for dependable all-season grip and long tread wear from their tires,” said Jonathan Lee, Dunlop general manager. “The new Dunlop Rover H/T is a choice that helps provide a blend of confident traction, a smooth ride and long wear.”
The 17 P-metric sizes of the all-season tire are backed with a 60,000-mile treadlife limited warranty, while the 16 LT-metric sizes will carry a 45,000-mile treadlife limited warranty. The Rover H/T size range covers 15- through 20-inch fitments.
The new tire target fitments such as Chevrolet Silverado, Ford Escape, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Tundra, Lee said.
The tire features V-Lock Grooves on the shoulders for all-season grip, Dimensionally Stable Polyester, raised white or raised black lettered sidewalls, and Goodyear’s Versaload technology to “help maximize the amount of the tire’s footprint that comes in contact with the road” for traction, handling, ride comfort and treadwear.
