Michelin North America introduced its new Uniroyal brand ultra high performance tire, the Tiger Paw GTZ All Season. The tire is engineered to meet the UHP needs of drivers of sports cars and sedans in a range of weather conditions, the company said.
“The Uniroyal brand resonates with drivers and is known for trust and longevity,” said Duane Thomas, Uniroyal brand category manager. “Right now, the ultra-high performance all-season category is one of the fastest growing segments of the market. In this economy, drivers are reluctant to purchase high-end tires, but aren’t willing to sacrifice quality. By offering high quality at an affordable price, we are helping fill that need in the marketplace.”
The non-directional Tiger Paw GTZ All Season features Uniroyal’s DuraShield technology, which includes pyramidal steel belts, insulating belt edge strips and a heavy gauge inner liner designed to help the tire absorb impact, reduce stress, run cooler and extend belt and tire life, according to Michelin. The tire also features the Tiger Claw tread design, a solid center rib and optimized tread compound for reliable performance in all seasons.
The Z-speed rated tire will be available July 1 in 25 sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches in diameter.
