Louisiana Tire Dealer Opens 13th Retail Location

(Akron/Tire Review) Chabill’s Tire Traxx in Mathews, La., celebrated the grand opening of its 13th retail location on Feb. 7.

Bobby Hebert – the “Cajun Cannon” – was on hand to sign autographs at the grand opening of the newest store.

The retail tire dealer opened for business in 1968 in Morgan City, La., and, since then, has expanded throughout southern Louisiana. Chabill’s also operates a headquarters office and warehouse facility in Morgan City and stocks, sells and services Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Cooper, Goodyear and Kelly brands.

Chabill’s enjoys a direct buying relationship with Michelin North America, which allows it to adjust pricing to better compete with national chains, the dealer stated. Charley Gowland, founder and co-owner, said Chabill’s is one of only two Michelin Alliance dealers in Louisiana and one of less than 300 in the entire U.S.

The dealer also employs more than 50 service personnel, many of whom have multiple ASE certifications in brakes, steering and suspension, air conditioning repair and engine diagnostics.

Chabill’s said it is currently pursuing a 14th retail location in southern Louisiana.
