Kumho Takes Second Straight Red Dot Honor

Kumho Tire Co. won the 2013 Red Dot Design Award for the design of its Ecowing ES01 tire.

This marked the second straight year that Kumho won the top prize in the product design competition. Last year, Kumho won the Red Dot Design Award for the Ecsta LE Sport. In addition, it won the iF Design Award for three products – Ecsta LE Sport, Majesty Solus and the I’Zen. Kumho also received the 2012 American Good Design Award for the Ecsta 4X in the category of transportation.

Designed as an eco-friendly product for the European market, Ecowing ES01 “demonstrated its excellent performance by meeting the strict requirements of the EU tire labeling system,” Kumho said.

“By winning the Red Dot Design Award, one of the world’s top three design honors, for a second year straight, Kumho has established that it is a company the world recognizes for its eco-friendly technology and design excellence. We will continue our efforts for technology development and our investment in design to increase our corporate image as an eco-friendly company within the global market,” said a Kumho official.
