Singapore tiremaker Omni United said it will donate 25 cents to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for each Radar brand tire sold – and committed a minimum annual donation of $250,000.
The company said its objective is to "increase both awareness and funds to support the efforts of BCRF, with the goal of raising $1 million over the next year."
The breast cancer drive “Mobilizing Hope” will launch in the U.S. (in addition to Radar’s other top markets including the U.K.) this month, with products benefiting BCRF available from more than 12,000 leading tire retailers serviced by Tire Centers Inc. through May 2012.
In addition, starting in August 2011 the full range of Radar tires will be available at 867 Sears Auto Centers across the U.S.
Radar products eligible for the donation include the Dimax R8 and the RPX800 UHP tires, the new Centigrade RWX1 winter tire, the Verenti R6 UHP range and the Renegade R5 mud terrain range. All the tires will have distinct labeling identifying the product as supportive of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Omni will make efforts over the next year to share BCRF’s message.
"We at Omni-Radar believe that our company has a responsibility to the world beyond making a safe, durable, eco-friendly and attractive tire for our customers," said G.S. Sareen, president and CEO of Omni United. "We are proud and excited to establish this relationship with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, one of the most highly regarded not-for-profit organizations in the world. We are great admirers of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s work and dedication to the global cause of fighting breast cancer, a disease that has touched the lives of many in our communities.”
Omni United offers a complete range of passenger, light truck/SUV, truck/bus, and farm tires, marketed under its brands Radar, Goodride, Roadlux and Corsa. The U.S. market, said Omni United, is its largest market, accounting for 70% of its total sales. The company’s tires are produced in Indonesia and China.
