IMI gets Patent, Prize for Balance Technology

(Akron/Tire Review) International Marketing Inc.’s XACTBalance was recently granted a patent and was recognized at the 2005 SEMA Show in the show’s first-ever International New Product Awards.

“This is confirmation of more than a decade of research and hard work that has gone into developing a product like XACTBalance,” said IMI President Bob Fogal Jr. “It’s also great to have this type of international recognition, which is always helpful when trying to introduce an innovative product like XACTBalance to a global audience.”

XACTBalance is a lead-free, active wheel weight system, for all types and sizes of wheels. The system features dynamic media housed within a flexible thermoplastic cartridge that moves and adjusts to changing conditions as the tire rotates, targeting the exact location of the imbalance and correcting it, IMI said.

Winners of the SEMA International New Product Awards were selected by a panel of journalists, who reviewed more than 1,000 new automotive products introduced at the show.
