A special website celebrating the 75th birthday of the world’s longest-produced winter tire range has gone live.
This year, Nokian Tyres is celebrating three quarters of a century of Hakkapeliitta production, and anyone wishing to learn more about the tire’s history and heritage can visit the company’s hakkapeliitta75.com website.
Featured on the site is are images and videos of Hakkapeliitta tires over the decades, as well as a timeline and thematically-presented information about the tire and the Finnish manufacturer.
The Hakkapeliitta was launched in 1936, two years after Nokian produced its first winter tire, the Kelirengas or “weather tire.” Over the past 75 years, a total of 33 Hakkapeliitta passenger car and heavy vehicle products have been introduced and sold in more than 50 countries.
New additions to the Hakkapeliitta range are developed at Nokian Tyres’ test center in Ivalo, located 300 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. (Tyres & Accessories)
