Flynn’s Opens 18th Retail Tire Store

(Akron/Tire Review) Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service has acquired the former Vowinckel Tires located at 305 Main St., Clarion, Pa.

This is the 18th retail location for the Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service retail division which operates stores in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.

Joe Flynn III, President of Flynn’s, says “We are pleased to be able to follow in the footsteps of a respected, family owned business such as Vowinckel Tires. Our plans are to quickly become good neighbors and service the area with the same friendly, family owned spirit that Bill Vowinckel had maintained for years.”

He said the purchase is consistent with Flynn’s overall growth strategy and fits neatly into the company’s market map.

Most major tire brands will be available, including top selling brands Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly, Yokohama, Vogue, Republic and others. All consumer tire sales will be price packaged to include mounting, new rubber valve stem, old tire disposal, lifetime computer spin balancing, lifetime tire rotation and a 30 day “Test Pride” guarantee. Road hazard is included on the most popular passenger tires.

There are plans for this location to expand the existing automotive services over the next few months to include; brakes, shocks, struts, batteries, alternators & starters, exhausts, air & fuel filters, belts & hoses, air conditioning service, tune-ups and state inspections.

Community makes McMahon’s Best-One stand out from the competition. The company was founded in 1969 by Pat McMahon, who bought out a local independent tire dealer in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, with the help of Paul Zurcher.

Pat built a strong foundation for the business, and today, his son, Bubba, who grew up in the tire industry, now owns it with Randy Geyer, a longtime employee. Bubba’s wife, Kim, is now president of McMahon’s Best-One, and together they are pushing the limits on what it means to be an independent tire dealer.
