Falken Tire has added the ZE914 EcoRun to its Ziex line of tires. The new tire is the first passenger car tire under the tiremaker’s EcoRun badge, which is reserved for Falken tires developed with optimized fuel efficiency.
According to Falken, tests have shown the Ziex ZE914 EcoRun has 20% less rolling resistance than the Ziex ZE912. The tire also features a silica enriched compound, four circumferential grooves and an asymmetric tread pattern for hydroplane resistance for maximum wet traction; and optimized slot and sipe placement to maintain tread block rigidity in some places while providing softness in others, for “optimal comfort and handling,” the tiremaker added.
"As a Summer Eco Tire, the Ziex ZE914 EcoRun strikes a perfect balance of fuel efficiency without compromising performance," said Andrew Hoit, Falken vice president of marketing. "This tire is great for people who want to increase their fuel efficiency without sacrificing dry traction performance."
The new tire is available in 14 sizes ranging from 185/65R15 to 225/40R18.
