Kalona Tire’s location in Kalona, Iowa, was totally destroyed when an explosion and subsequent fire ripped through the facility on Mar. 2.
Fire officials said the business was a total loss, with little of the company’s equipment salvageable, according to reports. There were no injuries reported.
Four fire departments battled the mid-day blaze, which took four hours to extinguish.
Witnesses, said reports, said an explosion blew out one wall of the shop, and flames quickly engulfed the facility.
Fire officials are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and fire.
