Conti Introduces New Winter Offerings

Continental Tire the Americas introduced two new winter tires – the WinterContactSI and the General Tire Grabber Arctic LT.

Available to consumers in the fall of 2015, the WinterContactSI is a new passenger car, minivan and CUV tire featuring Conti’s patented PolarPlus+ Technology. The technology is designed for ultimate grip in snow, ice and wet conditions, the tiremaker said.

In addition to the PolarPlus+ Technology, the WinterContactSI includes several biting edges for increased traction. The tire also features Conti’s Alignment Verification System.

The WinterContactSI has a 30-day customer satisfaction trial and road hazard coverage as well as a 72-month manufacturer’s limited warranty program. The tire comes in 22 sizes from 15-inch – 20-inch wheel diameters with a T and H speed rating.

Dealers can start ordering the WinterContact SI in April 2015.

In addition to the new WinterContactSI, Conti has showcased its new General brand Grabber Arctic LT.

The all-weather light-truck tread compound is a strong, cut and chip resistant compound that maintains cold-weather flexibility and provides excellent traction, according to Conti.

“The enhanced snow and ice traction combined with a studdable design, make this tire a great choice for the light truck owner,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental Tire.

The Grabber Arctic LT features DuraGen Technology designed to provide stability under all load conditions with responsive handling and even treadwear, the tiremaker said. Additionally, winter sipes provide grip in snow and icy conditions with strong wet/dry braking and stable handling and snow traction ridges offer additional grip during cornering accelerating and braking and deep snow.

The Grabber Arctic LT is backed by a 30-day customer satisfaction trial. It’s available in a range of sizes between 16-inch – 20-inch wheel diameters with a R speed rating.

The Grabber will also be available for dealer orders starting April 2015.
