Conti Launches Eco Photo Contest

Surrounding the formal launch of its new ContiProContact EcoPlus, Continental Tire the Americas has launched an eco-themed consumer photo contest.

Grand prize is a five-day/four-night trip to The Vila Gale Eco Resort De Angra Dos Reis in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, for two adults, including round-trip airfare, an Ecological Tour Of Angra Dos Reis, and a schooner cruise of nearby islands. Three first prize winners will receive a set of Continental ProContact EcoPlus tires, and two second prize winners will receive a Flip Video Camcorder.

The "How Eco Are You?" photo contest challenges consumers to enter their most creative and original ecology oriented photos. "The Green Movement is here to stay, and with the launch of our new ProContact with EcoPlus Technology, Continental is re-affirming its commitment to being part of the solution for sustaining the planet," said Dana Zamalloa, CTA manager of public relations and communications. "This contest is our way of asking consumers to look at the world in a more eco-friendly way, and to show us their best creative efforts in doing that."

The contest runs May 17 to Aug. 22. To submit photos, visit www.continentaltire.com, click on the "How Eco Are You?" banner, and upload the photo submission along with other identifying information. All entries must be in .jpg format, and must be no more than 18 months old. All eligible entries received will be posted at www.continentaltire.com, where they will be rated by site visitors. The contest is void in New York, Florida, Rhode Island and the U.S. Territories. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

Ascot Supply Corporation, based in Newnan, Georgia, has selected Mark Paquette for the newly created position of vice president. In this position, Ascot Supply said Paquette will oversee the growth of the company's products, corporate profitability, manage marketing and advertising and assume many other responsibilities.

He will work under the direction of current President David Kessler and officially begin his new role on June 3. Paquette joined the tire and automotive industry in the early 1980s at his father's tire shop, and his contributions to Mohawk Rubber Sales were instrumental in the company's growth and eventual sale to Myers Tire Supply in 2021, according to Ascot Supply. Paquette eventually was given a promotion to the role of director of operations at Myers Tire Supply.
