Jaclyn “Jackie” Pobiega, communications manager of commercial vehicle tires for Continental Tire the Americas since 2009, was killed in an auto accident April 1 in Fort Mill, S.C. Pobiega was 36.
Pobiega’s responsibilities for Continental included commercial tire marketing communications for the U.S. and Canada. She was also a key player on Conti’s global and Americas region marketing communication teams, serving as the public relations voice of Conti’s commercial vehicle tire division.
She graduated from Milford High School in Milford, Ohio, in 1995 and from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University, 1999 with a B.S. in Journalism.
Prior to joining Conti, Pobiega was marketing manager at C.P. Morgan, a copywriter for Areva Inc. and a marketing coordinator for Symbiot Business Group.
Her husband, Michael, and children, Robert, 6, and Ellen, 2, survived her.
