Dayton brand medium truck tires are no more.
Bridgestone Americas announced yesterday that it would discontinue sales of Dayton brand medium truck radials as of Jan. 1, 2011. The tiremaker said it anticipates it will burn off its remaining Dayton inventory by the end of this year, but did not say when it stopped production of the tires.
The move, Bridgestone Americas said, does not impact production and sales of its Dayton branded passenger and light truck/SUV lines.
“This decision is based on the desire to simplify our product offering, making it easier for our distributors and customers to conduct business with us,” said Kurt Danielson, president of Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions. “As a supplier who works with fleets to implement tire management solutions to lower overall operating costs, we feel that Firestone brand truck and bus tires will offer customers a viable alternative.”
