Durand, Wisc.-based tire distributor Bauer Built Inc. has acquired Hanson Tire Service, headquartered in LeRoy, Minn., along with a location in Preston, Minn.
The deal, finalized on Aug. 20, allows Bauer Built to expand existing operations as part of its overall growth strategy, and provides the company with an opportunity “to significantly increase sales and service to the agricultural market, which was a large part of the Hanson business,” according to Jerry Bauer, the company’s president.
Bauer Built will continue to offer the same services and product lines as Hanson Tire, which has been servicing the Midwest for 53 years. Brands offered include Michelin, BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, General, Hercules, Cooper and Kumho lines, as well as Michelin Retread Technologies.
Bauer Built will continue operating the business under the Hanson Tire name. The current Hanson management team, including owners Randy Eastvold and Greg Rollins, along with Ron Eastvold, will be assisting the Bauer Built management team through the transition and all but one of the Hanson employees have joined the Bauer Built team.
Founded in 1944, Bauer Built serves the Midwest in the wholesale, commercial and retail distribution of new and retreaded tires, batteries, automotive services and related. With the addition of Hanson Tire, the company has 31 Tire Centers, seven Michelin Retread Technology retread plants, and three Rim and Wheel refinishing operations.
