The German sports coupe (dubbed by Audi as the “slowest car we’ve ever built” due to its labour intensive, non-production line manufacture) will receive two top of the range Dunlop products, the UHP Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT and for the upcoming winter season the Dunlop Winter Sport 3D.
The SP Sport Maxx GT summer tyre is designed to provide superior grip and steering precision, excellent high-speed and cornering stability and great handling capabilities, combined with exceptional road feedback. The Audi R8 will be equipped with the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT in size 235/35 ZR 19 for the front axle and in size 295/30ZR19 on the rear. For the colder months Audi has chosen the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D. The R8 will be equipped with sizes 235/35R19 or 235/40R18 for the front axle and 285/35R18 or 295/30R19 at the rear. The SP Winter Sport 3D, says Dunlop, provides excellent grip and braking performance on snow-covered and wet roads.
