American Tire Distributors continued its growth march with the acquisition of Ohio’s North Central Tire Group.
NCT reported it serviced 2,700 customers from three distribution centers in Canton and Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rochester, N.Y. The Canton location is right in the backyard of Alliance, Ohio-based Terry’s Tire Town, which recently expanded into New England.
ATD said the deal should close by the end of April, and the acquisition is part of ATD’s plan to add as many as 11 new DCs this year, including centers in Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit; Columbus, Ohio; Wichita, Kan.; Seattle; Portland, Ore.; Spokane, Wash.; Boston; Philadelphia and New Jersey.
“North Central Tire developed a well-respected distribution business in their market,” said Bill Berry, president and CEO of ATD. “We look forward to building on their records of success by offering an unmatched breadth and depth of product, a strong array of dealer marketing programs, and unsurpassed customer service.”
The acquisition gives ATD 90 DCs in 39 states.
