Moog Steering, Suspension Line Now Includes Premium U-Joints

Federal-Mogul’s Moog steering and suspension product line now includes a comprehensive offering of premium replacement universal joints for automotive, heavy-duty and agricultural applications, according to the company.

The new Moog driveline offering includes anti-galvanic U-joints featuring chemically coated bearing cups and lock rings for protection of aluminum yokes; Super Strength U-joints for high torque, high horsepower applications; and heavy-duty U-joints for agricultural, commercial, industrial and off-highway use. The Moog line also includes power takeoff (PTO) joints featuring a patented thrust washer technology with anti-drainback feature commonly used in medium- and heavy-duty equipment.

Each Moog U-joint is machined to meet or exceed OE specifications and is tested to Federal-Mogul’s strict quality tolerances for exceptional performance and durability, according to the maker. Important Moog engineering features include cold-formed and case-hardened bearing cups for improved strength and wear resistance; premium quality seals that lock out contaminants and ensure lubricant retention; precisely machined needle bearings designed for maximum loads; radial-design bearing cups that promote 360-degree lubrication; high strength forged and carburized (heat treated) steel crosses that help ensure excellent durability; and an integral grease fitting for easy maintenance and longer life.
