With a Customer List Like This, It Has to Be Good

Did ya ever wonder: Just who is buying tires from Colorado Tire Corp./Washington Tire Corp.?

I mean, this is the same company – in its previous incarnation as American Tire Corp. – that claimed an "objective to become the largest and best manufacturer for 63- and 57-inch tires" and that it was a "well-established OTR tire manufacturer which has had several ‘firsts’ in the OTR tire industry" and was so bold as to make a run at buying a Goodyear’s Topeka, Kan., plant.

Oh, let’s not forget that memorable $500 million and then $750 million and then $1 BILLION tire plant that it was building.

If you’re that well-heeled, it must be because you’re selling a pile of tires to top customers, right?

According to a Colorado Tire brochure, they are. In that brochure, CTC claims Caterpillar, Komatsu, Terex, Belza (CIS), Bharath (India), LeTourneau and shipbuilder ADSB Materials as “OEM” customers.

In the “Coal & Gold Mining” category CTC/WTC president Abraham Hengyucius (aka Hengyu Zhang, aka Abe Hengyucius, aka Abraham Zhang) claims as customers Anglo American, Reliance Infrastructure (India), MAK (Mongolia), Huaneng Power International (China), KPC Indonesia, SouthGobi Resources (Mongolia), and Goldcorp (Canada).

That is a pretty sizeable international customer list for CTC/WTC, which lists a Tacoma, Wash., mailing address, but a “physical address” in Seattle.

But, as CTC says in its own literature: “Years of field services in different countries of America, Asia, Europe and Africa have demonstrated Colorado OTR tires’ unmatched performance under various geographical conditions worldwide.”

Just thought you’d like to know.
