RMA Adds 100 Green Dealers

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) The Retread Manufacturers Association (RMA) has expanded the membership of its Green Dealer Scheme for tyre retailers who stock retreaded tyres.

Following an in-depth research and recruitment campaign, the Association has added over 100 new outlets to its list of passenger retread stockists, bringing the total number of retail outlets listed under the scheme is 319.

The Green Dealer Scheme was originally established in 2004 with a view to increasing the awareness of the ecological value of retreaded tyres among green consumers as well as to ensure that consumers who want to buy these products are able to identify local stockists.

RMA director David Wilson commented: "We have been delighted with the response to our telephone research campaign, which has helped us gain a significantly better understanding of the distribution of passenger retreads in the U.K. as well as allowing us to increase the number of dealers wishing to be listed under the Green Dealer Scheme. We expect the number affiliated dealers to increase further over the coming months as we contact further stockists identified during the course of our research."
