Goodyear Starts Selling Licensed Goods at Stores

(Akron/Tire Review) Goodyear plans to sell its good name by opening a series of free-standing licensed product kiosks at company-owned tire stores.

The kiosks, which will sell 22 products ranging from air compressors to floor mats and air pressure gauges, will be placed in 65 Goodyear Auto Service Centers and 118 Just Tires stores in the U.S. The products offered, all carrying the Goodyear name, will range in price from $2 to $40, the company said.

Goodyear said it will have a sample of the kiosk at its booth at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

According to Bob Paciulan, manager of licensed products for Goodyear, the move is part of a broader future retail distribution plan for its licensed products

Sandy Hridel, Goodyear’s retail merchandising manager, said, “This consumer-oriented initiative will help our retail stores provide a wider array of product and service choices to the customers who shop in our locations. This will allow them to enjoy further shopping convenience when they’re already in the store to select new tires, or have service work performed on their vehicles.”

Goodyear said the program will be evaluated in early 2008, and if it is deemed successful, it could be rolled out to all 750 company-owned stores and potentially to its dealer network.
