ACCC Names Lewin to Marketing Post

(Akron/Tire Review) Just days after announcing the imminent departure of long-time marketing director Dave Crawford, American Car Care Centers named Jeremy Lewin as its new director of marketing.

Lewin, a marketing manager with Continental Tire North America and son of ACCC president and CEO Len Lewin, will join ACCC at its Memphis, Tenn., headquarters on Nov. 14. Crawford is departing ACCC after 11 years, and will become vice president of business development for Phoenix-based Mail America, which has been one of ACCC’s vendors. His resignation from ACCC is effective at the end of this year.

“We knew that if the time ever came, Dave would not be easy to replace,” said Len Lewin. “During the past 11 years he has been my friend and valued partner in moving ACCC forward. His knowledge of the industry, ability to communicate at all levels and capacity to handle large volumes of work quickly and effectively made him a great contributor.”

Most recently, the younger Lewin has been manager of product planning and brand development for CTNA. In the past he worked with CTNA’s dealer programs and OE group.

Community makes McMahon’s Best-One stand out from the competition. The company was founded in 1969 by Pat McMahon, who bought out a local independent tire dealer in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, with the help of Paul Zurcher.

Pat built a strong foundation for the business, and today, his son, Bubba, who grew up in the tire industry, now owns it with Randy Geyer, a longtime employee. Bubba’s wife, Kim, is now president of McMahon’s Best-One, and together they are pushing the limits on what it means to be an independent tire dealer.
