U.S. Tire Adds E-Commerce System for Dealers

Tire and auto part distributor U.S. Tire & Exhaust, based in Combined Locks, Wis., has added various business automation and e-commerce software from Aftersoft Network.

The American Car Care Center-member distributor tire and auto part distributor most recently added Aftersoft’s OpenWebs B2C (business-to-consumer) software, making it available to its 300-plus tire dealer customers. The software will allow consumers to visit an individual dealer’s Web site and search for tires by vehicle or size within USTE’s inventory – as opposed to the dealer’s – and to get tire quotes and request appointments.

“We have developed a long-term partnership with Aftersoft Network because of their technology focus and building block approach, which has allowed us to continue to grow our business through various e-commerce initiatives for both our parts and tire channels,” said Pat Hietpas, USTE’s vice president and general manager. “Through Aftersoft’s e-commerce solutions, we have seen a dramatic increase in our revenues and electronic transactions, with over 40% of our orders now coming electronically.  With better real-time information, we are driving increased sales, accelerating inventory turnover, and creating greater efficiencies and closer relationships with our dealers.” (Tire Review/Akron)
