Cooper Tires Chosen for World of Wonders Expedition

Adventure Learning Foundation has selected the Cooper Discoverer S/T-C tire for use on the tenth leg of its World of Wonders educational expedition, which teaches school-aged children about the world’s people, cultures and places through an interactive, Web-based application.

“We anticipate driving 40,000 miles across Africa, Europe and Asia, and need a tire reliable enough to carry us through a variety of terrains,” said Donald Greene, president of ALF. “Cooper’s previous work with us on the New Zealand and Australia legs of the program demonstrated the quality of its tires, making this an easy decision.”

The Discoverer S/T-C is Cooper’s premium all-purpose light truck traction tire that utilizes a special cut and chip resistant tread compound. A hybrid of three designs – all-terrain, high void and commercial traction – the tire is especially suited for extended off-road applications, according to Cooper. (Tire Review/Akron)

Bridgestone invests in Yoshi Mobility to expand into virtual inspection, EV charging

Yoshi is also commercializing its mobile EV charging platform to address EV fleet charging challenges.

Yoshi Mobility recently closed its $26 million Series C funding round. The round includes strategic investors General Motors Ventures and Bridgestone Americas, as well as international investors Universal Motors Agencies and Shikra Limited. Launched out of Y Combinator in 2016, the company is also backed by ExxonMobil, DN Automotive, NBA All-Star Kevin Durant, and NFL legend Joe Montana. Yoshi Mobility has raised more than $60 million to date. In addition to scaling its core business, the company said Series C funding enables it to expand three new business lines: preventative maintenance, virtual vehicle inspections and electric vehicle (EV) charging.
