Apollo Tyres won the National Intellectual Property Award for 2020 in the category of “Top Indian Company/Organization for Designs & Commercialism.” In a virtual awards ceremony held by the Indian Intellectual Property Office and Confederation of Indian Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, Indian minister for commerce and industry, presented Apollo Chairman Onkar Kanwar with the award.

National intellectual property awards are conferred by India’s Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and Ministry of Commerce to outstanding innovators, organizations and companies in the fields of patents, designs, trademarks and geographical indications.

Apollo Tyres received the award on the basis of the company’s intellectual property registrations, both in terms of quality and quantity. The company has filed for 75 design registrations cumulatively for India and abroad from 2017 to 2019.
