Omni Rolls Out Radar Winter Line

rw-5_omniOmni United is launching a new winter tire line, the Radar RW 5, for passenger cars, CUVs and SUVs.

Designed for drivers who want improved traction in extreme snowy, slushy and wet conditions, the tire carries the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol and features a directional tread pattern that helps maximize snow grip and water clearance, Omni said.

Strategically angled sinusoidal sipes help improve grip in snowy conditions while delivering stability on dry and wet roads, and a sawtooth shaped tread block design improves mechanical traction and enhances safety with shorter braking distance, Omni adds.

Additionally, the tire’s silica tread compound delivers improved grip in winter conditions ranging from hard compacted snow, freshly snowed roads to slush, wet and dry roads, the tiremaker said.

The RW 5 line will have a total of 45 sizes. Thirty sizes are now available for order and an additional 15 sizes will be launched in 2017. Many sizes are also available in Extra Load (XL).
