Registration Open for Rubber Modified Asphalt Conference

Registration is now open for the 7th Rubber Modified Asphalt Conference that will take place Nov. 2‐3, 2016 at the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The event will host industry experts and state highway officials experienced in rubber modified asphalt use who will discuss their experiences and challenges in expanding the use of the product that is used as an effective road surface.

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), the Scrap Tire Research and Education Foundation (STREF), Rubber Pavement Association and the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society will host the event.

“We are very excited about the enthusiasm we have received from our speakers, sponsors and attendees for this conference,” said John Sheerin, RMA director, end of life tire programs. “The conference is an ideal educational forum for state department of transportation officials and state scrap tire regulators to help improve their understanding of rubber modified asphalt and increase its use.”

Sessions at the event will include cost considerations for rubber modified asphalt, state case studies, contractors’ experience with the product, and air and water environment issues.

The Scrap Tire Work Group – which includes representatives from government, trade organizations, scrap tire publications, consultants, academia, and scrap tire recyclers – will also meet on Nov. 1 to discuss the overall progress of the U.S. state scrap tire markets and programs.

For more information on the conference and to register, visit www.stref.org.
