Giti Tire (USA) Inc. sent the winners of its recent social media contest to the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl. The contest was part of the tiremaker’s official sponsorship of the parade.

As part of the contest, contestants had to share their story about why they wanted to attend the Rose Parade and bowl game. Contestants then had to garner votes for their entry from their Facebook friends, Giti shared. The top vote getters were chosen in a random drawing, with eight winners being selected.

“We want to thank everyone who entered our contest and cast votes,” said Joe Anzelmo, senior manager, marketing, advertising and promotions, for Giti Tire (USA) Inc. “With Giti Tire being a family-owned company, it was very special to read the many family-oriented stories among the entries and be able to fulfill the dreams of the winners.”

Patricia Smith, of Galesburg, Ill., was one winner of the social media contest. Smith shared a touching story about wanting to take the trip in memory of her sister.

“Last year I took my younger sister to the Rose Bowl. She passed away in April and I would love to take my other sister this time in her memory,” she said.

Giti’s Facebook page received nearly 4,000 new fans during the contest, the tiremaker said.
