Denso Names Kato New Americas President

Denso Corp. has named Haruhiko “Hal” Kato president of Denso Products and Services Americas, Inc. (DPAM). Kato succeeds Yoshihiko Yamada, who is retiring after 38 years with the company.Denso_kato

Kato earning his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Kobe University and began his career in air conditioning systems research and development.

Kato joined Denso in 1986. He held various positions within the corporation’s global network and in 2012, he became general manager of the Aftermarket Business and Product Development group of Denso’s Climate, Heating and Cooling Product Division in Japan. In April, Kato joined DPAM in southern California as the company’s senior executive coordinator.

As president of DPAM, Kato will oversee 470 employees at the company’s facilities in Long Beach and Murrieta, Calif., and manage the sales, manufacturing and distribution operations of all groups under DPAM.
