Express Oil Buys Three Tire Businesses

In addition to the acquisition of Birmingham, Ala.-based Savannah Tire earlier this month, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers purchased Upton Tire Pros, with four locations near Jackson, Miss., and Trax Tires, with 10 locations near Mobile, Ala.

For each purchase, employees and existing management of all locations were kept, according to an Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers spokesman, who added each location will remain open and operate under its original name.

“Each of these businesses are in our existing company footprint. They were great organizations with proven track records, strong ties to the community and skilled employees. These are the qualities we look for in new locations,” the spokesperson added.

Express Oil Change & Tire Service Center is a quick lube chain and franchiser. The company acquired Tire Engineers in 2013, allowing it to expand into the tire business. With the most recent tire dealership acquisitions, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers operates 242 locations across 13 southern states.

“We will continue to buy locations where it makes sense for continued growth of our business,” the spokesperson added.
