Kumho Tire North America will offer two new winter tires in 2015; the Wintercraft Wi31and the Wintercraft WP51.
The Wintercraft Wi31 features optimal stud arrangement for maximized ice performance, upgraded stud deco for improved braking on ice as well as 3-D snow sipes that deliver better handling, braking and control, Kumho said. Additionally a new lateral groove design assists with of snow/wet traction. This tire is available in 42 sizes with speed ratings of T and Q for the U.S. market and in 49 sizes in both T and Q speed ratings for Canada.
The Wintercraft WP51 utilizes an all-new tread pattern and compound to help with grip in severe winter conditions, according to Kumho. The arrangement of 3-D snow sipes reinforce performance, improve braking and handling on snowy roads, while the wide lateral grooves for water displacement reinforces wet performance. This alpine winter tire is available in 5 sizes with speed rating of T and H in the U.S. and in 45 sizes in T,H & V speed ratings in Canada.
